As one of the main branches of the FLTRP, Vocational Education Publishing (VEP) is now working closely with more than 80% vocational schools and colleges all over China, and actively constructing a comprehensive education system integrating “works, courses, competitions, and certificates”. It serves the goal of fostering virtue and talent and contributes new vitality and strength to the high-quality development of vocational education by offering the support in the areas such as textbook publishing, digital services, teachers training, academic research, international cooperation, and industry-education integration.
l Publications
FLTRP VEP is one of the vocational education publishing bases designated by Ministry of Education in China. It has systematic product lines in secondary vocational schools, tertiary vocational colleges and undergraduate-level vocational universities. English textbook publishing includes 10 series in comprehensive English courses, plus covering 33 principles in English for special purposes. 29 books admitted in National Planned Textbooks.
l Teacher Training Programmes
Jointly founded by BFSU and FLTRP, Education Center of BFSU undertakes training and exchange programmes for the teachers and students in universities and TVET colleges all around China. It is authorized by MOE in China to be an official training base, with “Dual-Teacher Training Base”, “Overseas Training Base” and “Demonstration Project for National Vocational Education Training” titles. Focusing on teacher development, offering extensive domestic and international training, the Center manages 70+ vocational education projects annually in 20+ provinces, including Shandong, Jiangsu, Guizhou, Yunnan, with thousands of teachers benefiting. Meanwhile, VEP offers the chance for Chinese teachers go abroad to do short-term study and also welcome international teachers to come to China to do exchange programs. International training and exchange programs focuses on the topics like teaching methods, agriculture, AI and many other key majors.
l Competitions for Teachers and Students
Undertaken by VEP, the "FLTRP Star Teacher Contest" is a contest for language teachers in universities and TVET colleges for more than 11 years. VEP organized the "FLTRP·ETIC Cup” English Public Speaking Contest for 21 sessions and the English Writing Contest for 11 sessions with more than 100,000 students joining. Together with China Education Television, VEP organizes the “CETV·FLTRP Cup” Vocational English Challenge. VEP plan to open an overseas student track to attract students from other countries.
l International Cooperation & Collaborations
VEP has been working closely with various institutes to be the bridge and do the international cooperation, such as embassies, NGOs, administrative authorities and research institutes in different countries, numerous QS 1-200 universities and vocational colleges, industrial associations and companies.
VEP hosts and undertakes large-scale international conferences organized by MOE, local authorities, CSTVE, and many other organizations in charge, including the Internationalization and Development of Vocational Education and Training Summit, Belt and Road International Conference on TVET. VEP creates a Webinar brand “Chinese-foreign Principal Live Room”, attracting thousands offline, 10,000+ online audience to join in.
VEP regularly organizes Chinese delegations to visit the counterparts in other countries like the UK, Singapore, etc., to discuss the cooperation and helps colleges and universities to find Chinese counterparts who are interested in doing the teachers and students exchange and training programmes.
VEP undertakes research projects issued by MOE, and release research reports such as the BRICS Vocational Education Cooperation Report and the "the Belt and Road" Vocational Education International Cooperation Development Report, Report on the Development of Vocational Education in China and the UK.
l Integration of Industry & Education
VEP hopes to build bridges between vocational colleges and industries and works closely with schools to create industry-specific academies and integration bases. Topics include cross-border e-commerce, international nursing, international tourism, and foreign trade.
l Digital Support
VEP E-Courses, E-Books, Teaching, Practices, Test, Learning APPs, Administration and MOOC digital platforms are widely used by more than 1,700 schools and 37,000 teachers to supervise online learning and more than 8 million students to improve their English.
